Throttled Ethernet Connection
I'm fairly new to linux, I downloaded Bazzite last night and I'm struggling to figure out an issue I'm having with my network. I recently swapped my ethernet cable for a Cat 8 and whenever I do I'm either stuck on 100mbit/s or the connection refuses to take at all and I'm stuck with no network connection. Any help would be appreciated I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong.

that sounds like it's not detecting your network speed properly. Sometimes it thinks that the speed is 100mb/s for some reason when it's actually faster. you might have to manually change this in the plasma settings to 1gb/s

are you dual booting with windows?
No I'm using exclusively Bazzite. And I have gone through the networking setting but I restart my machine and it'll still say 100mbit/s using the new cable
did you change it from 100mbit/s to 1gbit/s?
I did yes
I also disable ipv6 just in case, I saw on other threads that may affect it but no success for me
you mean it just reset itself spontaneously?
that shouldn't happen
I can try to recreate it and take a picture to show you
can you show me your networking settings in plasma please
like what i showed you
Yeah one second, Iβm flashing my bios, there was an update for it that I never downloaded
Here you are

it all looks correct to me :skype_worried: not sure where the problem is
Lol me neither, no worries thanks for having a look
So my dad and I went through testing all the speeds, it may be an ethernet cable issue because even he was having issues testing the network using the same cable while his system gets 200 mbp/s
