Though nothing I did in the image should cause this I think

Also having the same issue
nope doesnt help that it seems to be random some boots of steam work others don't
What i have noticed is i started getting notifications every now and then in kde about a usb device droping and reconecting but havent been able to figure out which not sure if its related
havent been able to reperduce this on steamos either so not sure if its a steam bug
I seemed to have now stopped getting this issue or at least have got very lucky in last couple of restart but, if it has stopped the only thing I can remember doing is swiping right to open the handheld daemon so that might be worth trying that
not sure how i would open hhd this is a desktop pc without a touch screen
Super + X twice according to a quick google search but I don’t think opening it would actually fix the problem
Huh! Disabling the hhd.service
Seems to fix this issue! Haven't gotten any issues since
I did notice the update that caused these issues had a commit in it for enabling hhd globally
We will need to look into that
Hhd is used by all handheld users and they are fine
Might be a corner edge case
Does it even have any use on htpc?
Most of its functionality is for handhelds no?
Yes
The updater
You get a progress bar now
But perhaps the overlay shouldn't autoload
We also want to add more functionality to it
And its a bit reductive to try to do it the other way
Ah ok I'll try testing some more when I get back and see if I can get anything from the status of the service and the journal
I had to step out but after disabling the service I didn't get any issues with about 6 reboots.
Before I was getting the issue almost every other boot
Maybe it has something to do with jt
There is a check for steam that is a bit fragile
But in the last three years it only had an issue twice
And both times the overlay just detected it and disabled itsf
For what its worth I was on a steam deck and got this issue for a while
steam deck just got added
Im getting this issue on Rog Ally X
