Is there a way to upload pictures files to an album through a file selector in the Android app?
The title kind of says it all.
The web interface lets us upload pictures directly from our drive to an album. Is there a way to achieve the same through the Android app? Adding the folder in which the pictures are located to the synced folder list is not an acceptable solution as there are in this folder pictures I don't want to upload to my Immich instance.
Thanks!
Edit: shoot, I meant to add the label "question" as well. I can't seem to add it after the fact. Sorry!
Edit: to clarify, here's my use case. My wife takes tons of random pictures and doesn't want her camera folder backed up. But she does want to pick and choose pictures to add to our shared album of our son.

Information
In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:
- Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
- Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l
and df -h
).
- The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
- Any other information that you think might be relevant.
Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.
Without the right information we can't work out what the problem is. Help us help you ;)
If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.Steps 6 and 7 of the checklist aren't really relevant, but I'm using the latest versions of the Android app and the latest version of Immich.
Naturally, if the answer to my question is "No, there's no way to do that", the subsequent question would be: what's the best way of sending that feature request to the team? I would expect a github issue to be the way to go, but it's best to check first.
