Reboot to other OS from game mode?

Is it possible to create a script or something launched as a "non-steam game" that reboots to another OS?
I have tried all kinds of stuff with chatgpt. All my scripts seem to work when run from ssh, but if I try to run an sh script from Game Mode, by clicking on the script as an added non-steam game it just does not work.
My usecase is that I have finally given up on finding a usable gamepad controlled environment that both do modern gaming (steam) and retro gaming in one go. Batocera is the only thing that does retrogaming semi-properly and I need to be able to reboot into that from bazzite with clicking stuff with my gamepad. Please do not suggest that I use Emudeck or Retrodeck as they do not satisfy my needs.
Chatgpt blames Bazzite's sandboxed nature for my failure so far.
