Button down shirt help
For these buttons on the collar should I keep them buttoned or not. For smart casual btw.
And for the rest of the button down, i recjon you're supposed to keep it all buttoned except near the top.

The collar will probably look weird if it isn’t buttoned down
How many buttons you button/unbutton comes down to preference and the dress code
Don't button the collar unless you have a tie
Oh you mean the collar flaps. Ya always button those
ur allowed to unbutton them it's not bad
but i usually do not
i see, and uh do i tuck my button down in? Ive seen ppl not do it but also do it. Its for an interview if that helps
And if I do whats the proper way cos when I do it, it looks sus.
I unbutton the collar if i have the top 2 shirt buttons undone
I find the way it hangs conceals the collar buttons
you could. never a bad idea for professional setting/interview type contexts
it probably doesnt look as weird as you think it does either. you’re just not used to it
just button up the shirt, put your pants on over the shirt, belt up, then hit a good shrug or t-pose to get the shirt a little loose from the pants
alright ill try it out, thanks.
leaving it out is more casual. Would either tucked and not tucked be fine for "smart casual"?
depends on the rest of the fit tbh. A tucked collared shirt isnt inherently formal tho, and for an interview id tuck it regardless.
Like you dont need a blazer or sports jacket or a tie but depending on your interviewer, an untucked shirt could at worst be a dealbreaker or at best be something they don't even notice. So.
realistically, yes. i tuck only about half the time i’m in office now. specifically for an interview though, especially for a younger guy, i think its a good play to go as polished/conformative/corporate as possible. good to show that you made the effort.
