Installing wrong version by default?

I'm trying to load up the newest Satisfactory Plus now that it has 1.1 support. I downloaded SMM, I look up the mod, I select to install it, it installs, and when I play the game I get an error about a mod dependency. I double check to see what is going on and SMM installed version 0.10.6 of Satifactory Plus. When I tell it to chose any other version is gives me a forbidden error. I'm not understanding what I'm not understanding here.
Debug included.
Solution:
SMM has a list of installs and a list of profiles. when you select an install, you can pick which profile that install is using. whenever you add or remove mods, it modifies the profile to do so. modifying a profile will try to update every install that has picked that profile

This error most often appears when trying to play Satisfactory Plus (AB_FluidExtras just happens to be the first mod, alphabetically, in that modpack). Make sure you have installed the correct version of Satisfactory Plus (it could be a pre-release you need to manually opt into!) and don't have any outdated mods installed forcing an older one to be used. FICSIT-Fred is correct. But I can't chose a different version.

It looks like you have not yet generated the debug info file! Please do as the mod manager requested. Click the "Generate debug info" button and send the zip file in #help-using-mods otherwise we will not be able to help you! -# Responding to pleasegeneratedebuginfo triggered by @Scrag

do you have a dedicated server on the same profile you're trying to install sf+ to? SMM keeps all installs on a profile in sync and SF+ has no server versions

I do! So what's the move? I'd rather not remove the server as I often use it with a few buddies.

put either your client or your server on a separate SMM profile, so that your client is the only one SMM is trying to install SF+ to

Okay! I don't quite understand how to do that. Forgive me.

I see how to make or delete profiles. I don't understand the relationship to it being for the client or server or both. That's my hangup.

your game client and game server installation(s) have the same profile selected. so even if your game client install is the one you are currently looking at, when you add the mod to your profile, it will try to put it on all installs so to make this not happen, have your client install selected, and make a new profile that guarantees the client and server installs will not have the same profiles selected

OH! I think I see now. Not 100% intuitive - especially when you have 2 versions named "Steam" and "Steam". Thank you for your time and patience!
