Steam not launching
Hello everyone! I’m new to Bazzite and Linux as a whole, and I just recently installed Bazzite. The problem is that Steam doesn’t seem to boot up, and I’m pretty miffed as to why. I’ve tried the ujust fix-reset-steam command, but that doesn’t work. I even reinstalled Bazzite and that’s not doing anything either. Is there something I missed? Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🫶

open system monitor to see if there's any network activity done by steam. if it is then just wait for a bit, maybe it's just downloading an update (which weights 400 mb)
Okay I’m seeing occasional spikes at around 1.9 KiB/s, so I guess just watch Mashle and wait it out?
that's super slow actually. leave this window open and try opening steam again. does it change anything?
if not try that ujust fix-reset-steam again
Still nothing, even after the fix-reset-steam command
no clue then. I'll let other people chime in to help
If anyone needs to know hardware specs:
Ryzen 7 5700x
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32gb DDR4
Crucial P310 1TB
Arc B580
So I tried launching Steam from the terminal and got:
ERROR: ld.so: object ‘usr/lib/extest/libextest.so’ from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.
not an error, ignore it
just in case you haven't, immediately reboot after running ujust fix-reset-steam
i think i recall some similar problems with gaming mode and intel arc GPUs recently, so you might want to search this server for "B580" for example. i don't have arc GPUs unfortunately so i can't assist much with it
Downgrading image may also help

There is this report saying b580 driver doesn't work at all (nomodeset falls back to software rendering, something like that)
do you have REBAR enabled in BIOS and BIOS in UEFI mode?
this gpu literally doesn't work correctly without it
unfortunately the ARC GPUs are still new and have a lot of problems in Linux and Windows toohttps://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1320066568838971466
if you have REBAR, try launching
steam from a terminal and post the output here, so we can see where it errors outNot sure what I did but we’re up and running now
The only thing I did was enable secure boot
Hello Im having the same problem did you figure out what you did
How did you enable secure boot
In the motherboard’s bios. If you have an older mobo like me (Asrock A320M) you may need to update the bios version
Okay
