bed temp not being recognized after reflashing rat os.
Hi,
I was having issues upgrading the packages through the update manager, so I reflashed my machine to the newest ratOS, and now my bed isn't heating.... I haven't changed any wiring, and I think I set it up properly to my previous config. v3.1 500mm.

I should clarify I am not sure if it's not heating or not recognizing, because it throws an error relativly quickly when the board isn't recognizing a temp change. The SSR is clicking on though
Are you trying to rerun the pid calibrate?
yes, but also just with heating it through typing in a temp
Is the thermistor reading room temp at least?
yea. I read through a few other threads- the thermistor is fine as far as I can tell (and i also tried a different thermistor and it was reading values). I am not sure if the bed is getting power through the relay. I
i'm hoping its not the heater itself
i already had to replace the SSR (before software flashing)
Got a heat gun or hair dryer? Point it at the thermistor and make sure it is registering a positive change
Gotta rule out these things one at a time
It registered change by my even putting my hand over it actually. Ill check with a heat gun today to be sure.
So that suggests the thermistor is working. Have you disconnected the bed heater and verified continuity?
The thermal fuse or a wire might be blown
does the v3 have a thermal fuse built in? Just to confirm, I'm checking contitnuity across the white wires that come out of the heater itself?
Doesn't seem like there is continuity between the white wires. "USA - Keenovo 480x480mm 120V 1500W Silicone Heater Bed Pad w/ NTC 100K Thermistor and Thermal Fuse " So where is the thermal fuse? When I look it up online it says the standard keenovo doesn't have a thermal fuse, but then other threads are saying it does? Sorry I feel like these are questions I should be able to answer...
it'll be buried under the pad, not precisely sure how to get at it. What is the resistance between the two white wires?
Ah, I found the thermal fuse, and it is showing no continuity. Seems like that is probably the issue!
hooray! a solvable problem 😄
fuse replaced, bed PID calibrated. Thanks for your help!
