External access with nginx reverse proxy
Hi, I have immich setup and running on my TrueNAS machine. I'd like to be able to access remotely when outside my home network. I have a domain on Cloudflare. Is it safe to have TrueNAS set on 80 and 443, and open those ports on my router, pointing to nginx ports, with Cloudflare DNS set to my home networks public IP? I have SSL setup as well through CF on nginx. I just know opening those ports can be unsafe, so I just want to make sure things are configured correctly. Currently I only use locally resolved domain with TrueNAS on 81 and 444, with nginx listening on 80 and 443. Also, will changing the ports on TrueNAS and nginx mess up anything with my local dns on my pihole? Just want to make sure my local domains will still work as well. Thank you!
