Window Tiling Resizing Configuration

Is there a configuration which I can set that will stop the window tiling feature from resizing if I make an adjustment? If I setup a split set to 50/50 vertical, shift drag a window in place, and then resize that window, the tiling configuration also changes. Ideally I would like to freely resize windows as needed while maintaining the tiling configuration.
