Boot buyer’s regret?
So I wanted some redwing chukkas for a while but more recently shifted my boot thirst to work boots. I watched a bunch of rose anvil and then dropped $360 on some white’s perrys, which arrived yesterday (can still return them). I have since discovered that mfad hates ra for his shilling, cluelessness, and purely utilitarian view of footwear, which…yeah, and now I’m questioning my purchase.
Points in favor:
- I wanted boots pre-RA
- I like workwear styles
- I like the way the boots look on me
- will last a really long time
- they fit well
Points against:
- very expensive
- the heel counter is murdering me (hopefully this will end soon?)
- I am disillusioned with the thought process that led me to them
- unsure about their styling versatility
- I don’t actually need work boots (right now, there might be some fieldwork in my future)
Any advice on whether they’re worth the money or if they would look bad outside of a narrow range of styles?
