Decky in Steam Desktop
Hey,
I'm asking this here as I've seen unust installation for decky
Surprisingly it also worked with their official installation so I'm not sure what's the difference
Question being is how can I make it work when not in Fullscreen gaming mode, I haven't seen the option pop up in steam nor where to configure it
Also I've seen decky claim official support for steam os, but at your own risk for desktop distros, which I'm guessing includes bazzite

decky is meant to be configured within the steam gaming mode QAM. you can use ctrl+2 on your keyboard or share+X / xbox+A / the equivalent combo on controllers. decky menu entry is on the bottom
I don't have my handheld atm but if you are not on deck images, you can try to open steam big picture and use ctrl+2 to see if the decky menu is there
So when using the steam desktop client it doesn't show up but in big screen it does?
it's meant for the gaming mode, so i don't believe you can configure it from normal desktop steam. but you can open big picture mode (steam > view > big picture mode) and once in there, press Ctrl+2 and see if the decky menu is there

i installed a decky plugin to modify steam virtual keyboard, and the effect stays in desktop mode. i'm not sure if other plugins would also behave that way
Thanks! Have you by any chance tried the external launchers addon
I want to integrate epic games non installed games to show up on steam
I prefer using heroic & lutris to manually add non-steam games and create steam shortcuts
So no i haven't tried any launcher addons. Manual adding + using steamgriddb to add images is the best and most reliable method imo
