SM7B with Wave XLR help
Hi, I am really considering returning the wave XLR and Shure SM7B
There is so much hiss coming through and the SM7B for being what it is, is picking up a lot of background noise while I am in the correct gain settings and with VST's
If anyone can help in the next 24h, that would be amazing

Just saw the message now, sorry for the late reply
a recording sample with no audio processing (anywhere) and with your gain set so your speaking voice is around the -18 to -12db range would be helpful here. Make sure to have no talking parts in the recording .
Sure, what daw should I record on?
whatever you want, dealers choice.
Here you go
GG @speex2020, you just advanced to level 2 !
can you do a little talking just to confirm levels
Here you go
you kinda sound like you are whispering. try doing another recording, you will need to adjust your gain here. But I want you to try projecting your voice more like you are talking to someone that is 6 to 10 feet away from you
Let me know if you need something else
nice, will take a listen after work. Just wanted to get the needed stuff so people can help faster 🙂
Ohhh okay, thank you, It is 10:15 pm so I dont know how much longer I am going to stay up/be able to proive more audio clips
Is your xlr cable crossing paths with any data or power cables anywhere
No, I have it hanging around a headset mount under my desk for the excess cable and I just store my guitar cable there when my interface for my guitar is off
