I ran dotnet dev-certs https --clean and now Visual Studio will not use any cert
Hi,
I just need a working fix. I can no longer test with a cert, even when running with --trust to make a new one. Nothing has worked so far.

I re-added the certificate, but I still get this Firefox warning (only fixable when I make an exception for the url). I don't think it was always like this, does anybody know what I might need to change in Firefox?
Oh, I understood.
This usually happens because Firefox uses its own certificate store, not the system one (unlike Chrome or Edge). So even if you’ve trusted the cert system-wide, Firefox might still reject it.
Shall I share the solution for you?
I see, that makes a lot of sense.
If you do have the solution which removes that Firefox warning, I’d love to know!
iirc in firefox you have to manually go to settings, to their security page and manually add the cert there
I tried that, but I don’t think I added the right thing
Do you know what file needs to be added, or the extension the the file but be (.crt, .pem, etc)
no idea where the cert you must add is tbh
Alright, I’ll figure it out. Thanks
Shall I send DM?
If you know the solution, sure

The reason I'm sending DMs is to avoid mean people like you.
Anyway, I just need to help others, and I can't stand the jealousy of people like you.

I help people. That’s it.
When I said “people like you,” I meant the ones who complain instead of contributing. Take it as a hint.

I’m contributing exactly where it’s needed — sometimes that’s DMs, sometimes public channels.
Saying “people like you” wasn’t about not contributing; it was about the tone and unnecessary negativity I sometimes encounter.
Your point about “not seeing contributions” is exactly why I pick DMs sometimes — to avoid misjudgment and let people actually get help.

Because not every question or conversation benefits from a public thread. Some things are quicker, cleaner, or more private in DMs.
Helping isn’t about showboating — it’s about results. Public visibility isn’t a requirement for contribution.

Okay I understood you.
I get your point about keeping things public to avoid confusion and spam.
I usually DM when I think it’ll be faster or clearer for the person asking, but I see how that can come across as secretive or unhelpful.
I’ll try to balance it more with public replies while still helping where it counts. Appreciate the constructive feedback!
