Kodi 21.2-Omega not working in Bazzite 43

Today I updated Kodi to the latest version due to a prompt in Flatpack. Recently I also upgraded to the latest Bazzite update, and I didn't check if the already installed Kodi was working after this, so I'm not sure whether it could be the Bazzite update or the Kodi one. The issue: When launching Kodi, the app attempts to open (visible in taskbar) but never launches (no front-end), and it closes (at least visually in the taskbar). What I've noticed, is that if I run Kodi through the App Launcher, it attempts to open but doesn't show on the System Monitor under "Applications", while opening it from Flatpack does make it show there, even if it doesn't launch either. Additional information: When the update prompted in Flatpack, after a few minutes it prompted again. I clicked on both, so I feel like I installed the update twice. Not sure whether that could've been the root cause of the issue or have something to do with it.
Solution:
this fixed it for me sudo flatpak update tv.kodi.Kodi --commit=00bf84dd49d2ddcbf18b73e9dcc1b471d0d70ba6d832eae4d595aa524a514a0d this fixed it for me

it is usually almost certainly not the system flatpaks are almost entirely separate from any system stuff in this case it definitely is a problem with the flatpak itself i installed it myself & can confirm same issue as you

@nagito || Knight of Emilia yeah, thanks! That indeed worked fine πŸ₯°

the flatpak is made by the kodi devs not sure how they managed to break it though the idea of flatpak is that everyone gets the same exact app regardless of Linux distro if it breaks as it did here it breaks for everyone as it did here

that's good to know. One of my main concerns was actually if the flatpack could be done by "anyone" and which ones to trust tbh πŸ˜… (I don't want to assume "if it's on Bazaar is completely safe")

it can but this one is official from what i could see

this the flathub website flathub is where you get most flatpak apps & where bazar gets apps from
nagito || Knight of Emilia
see it has a blue checkmark where it says kodi.tv there are a few ways devs verofy either they own the app's repository on github or they own the website in this case kodi.tv or in some cases the app is manually verified by flathub staff

Thanks for hte info! I'll defo make sure to check on flathub / Github from now on 😊

oh apparently you have to upload a file to the website to make your flatpak verified at least for website based verification

you can Right click on the comment with the solution > apps > Mark solution so other people know it works for more than just me πŸ˜› Also, quick update. I've just tried updating to the latest version (it still shows as 21.2 Omega in Bazaar) and it's working fine now. At least the solution will still serve to those who've already installed the damaged package
