Trying to enter painring mode on Nice!Nano V2 on Corne
Tapping twice on the reset button works on the right side of the keyboard, but it doesn't work on the left side. Even double tapping GND and RST with a metal tweezer doesn't work, it simply turns off the screen. All this with the power switch at the ON position

First, if you’re trying to pair to a device: only the left half pairs with your computer/phone. The right half never pairs to hosts; it only connects to the left. If you’re trying to enter the bootloader to flash the right half:
- Plug a USB data cable directly into the right half’s nice!nano.
- If it’s never been flashed, just plugging it in should mount the NICENANO drive (no double-tap needed).
- If it’s been flashed before, double-tap the reset button quickly while it’s USB-connected. The screen briefly turning off is normal during reset.
- If no NICENANO drive appears:
- Try a different known-good data cable/USB port/computer.
- Try double-tapping by shorting RST to GND with metal tweezers (very quick double-tap) while USB is connected.

I'm still stuck, I'm trying to flash firmware on the left half (my previous message which I edited I said the left side was fine and right side was bad, but it's the opposite, the left side is the side that isnt entering bootloader mode)
It has been flashed before though. I already tried different cables and ports on my computer, and I already tried double-tapping by shorting RST and GND with metal tweezers while the USB is connected. But the keyboard doesn't change at all

Given what you’ve tried, here’s a focused checklist for the LEFT half:
- Plug a known-good data USB cable directly into the left nice!nano (no hub), and try a different computer if possible.
- While USB is connected, double‑tap the physical reset very quickly (both taps within ~0.5s). The screen briefly turning off is normal during reset.
- Watch the nice!nano LED when you press reset: do you see a blue blink? If not, the MCU may not be resetting/powering correctly over USB.
- Try the manual short again on the pads labeled RST and any GND on the nice!nano itself, with a very fast double‑tap, while USB is connected.

LED is not blinking, the screen also doesn't turn off, and keyboard keeps typing normally like it is connected. USB is working and it is connected. It is also connected via bluetooth, I'm not sure if this changes anything.
I don't need to share the video. I double tapped very quicly the left side's reset button just like I did on the right side. Right side enters bootloader mode, but left side doesn't. I'm on linux, if this makes any difference. Everything works normally on the right side. Left side is the issue.
I’m reading you—thanks for the clear details. Since the left half won’t reset or blink and keeps typing, that points to the left nice!nano’s reset/bootloader, not the host OS.
Do this to isolate the fault:
1) Hard power-cycle the left half
- Switch OFF, unplug the battery JST for 10+ seconds.
- Plug USB back in, switch ON, try an ultra‑quick double‑tap of the reset. Still no LED blink/NICENANO?
2) Reseat and swap the nice!nanos
- Pull the left nice!nano out of its sockets, inspect for bent pins, reseat firmly.
- Swap the two nice!nanos between halves.
- Result:
- If the “no reset/no bootloader” problem follows the module to the right side, the nice!nano itself is the issue.
- If the problem stays on the left PCB even with the other nano, the PCB’s reset path is likely at fault.
If it follows the module:

If it stays with the left PCB:

Note: BLE being connected doesn’t prevent entering bootloader—seeing no blink and no reset reaction is the key symptom here.

Swapping both nice!nanos worked! I reflashed the firmware and it was working fine, except for both halves connecting to eatch other. The new left side was connecting to the computer. The right side wouldn't connect to the left side. So I swapped the nice!nanos once again, but then the left side wasn't entering the bootloader mode again, which is the initial problem. So I swapped them once more and the new left side works again and the right side also works again, but they won't pair to each other (but left side is pairing to the computer). What does this mean? Is the issue on the nice!nano, or on the keyboard board? Also, how can I pair both sides again easily (I'm avoiding building a reset firmware)

1) Reflash both halves with matching, same-version firmware
- Flash LEFT with the Left UF2 and RIGHT with the Right UF2, ensuring you pick the correct variant (with or without nice!view).

2) Clear all BLE bonds on both halves
- On the LEFT: for profiles 0–4, select each profile (BT_SEL or BT_NXT) and press BT_CLR on each to clear bonds.
- On the RIGHT: power it on and press BT_CLR as well (you can do the same 0–4 sweep).
- Note: This will also clear host bonds; you’ll re-pair to your computer after the halves pair.
3) Re-pair the halves
- With both halves powered on, press reset on BOTH at the same time. Wait ~10–20 seconds; they should auto‑pair.
- Then re-pair the LEFT to your computer on the desired profile.

For your tests reply (about the falty nice!nano) can this be a soldering issue? Like I soldered something wrong? Or its a firmware issue?
For 1) I've already done it. For 2), I don't have a BT_CLR on the right side, only on the left side. 3) without doing step 2), step 3) is not working.

When the falty nice!nano is on the right side, it enters bootloader and works regularly with pressing the reset button normally.
For connecting both halves, I could fix it without the reset firmware: since the LEFT .UF2 provided by Typeractive has a BT_CLR, I flashed it on the RIGHT side, and cleared all bluetooth connections using BT_CLR from it. It was mirrored but it worked. Then I flashed the proper RIGHT .UF2 file and turned both halves off. When I turned them back on, they paired. Then I connected it to the computer, so now everything is working propperly, both sides can enter bootloader mode.
Nice work getting it sorted, and clever use of flashing the LEFT UF2 onto the right to run BT_CLR and clear bonds. That’s a valid workaround.
What this likely means:
- Since both halves now enter bootloader and behave normally, the nice!nanos themselves are probably fine. The earlier “left won’t reset/bootloader” may have been a transient lockup or a marginal connection on the left side.
- If it returns, focus on the left half’s physical path:
- Reseat the nice!nano so it’s fully flush in the headers/sockets; inspect for any bent pins (especially around RST).
- If you soldered hotswap sockets/headers, reflow those joints on the left side, paying extra attention to the RST pin/joint.
- Fully power-cycle: switch OFF, unplug the battery JST for 10–15s, then try USB-only + quick double‑tap reset.
- Manually short RST→GND on the nano while USB is connected; if that fails again only on the left PCB, it points to a power/ground contact issue—reseating/reflow usually fixes it.
For future pairing issues:
- Make sure both halves are on the same release and that you flash the correct LEFT/RIGHT UF2 (and the correct with/without nice!view variant) from your board’s firmware page:

Okay, I believe all issues were solved so far, so should I close this or what? Also, it's a good thing to share with whever programs you the way I fixed the BT_CLR on the right side by flashing the left UF2 file, so you can suggest this to other users in the future.
