Can't Play Games
For some reason the update broke many games for me
Particularly ones that were made with Unity, they open with a black screen, despite hearing sounds as if I can select options
The cursor is shown and music is audible, but display is black
It happened due to the upgrade to 43, anyone knows why?

so if you downgrade it doesn't happen?
The issue is can I downgrade
I think it's because Nvidia's updated drivers
I'm just not sure how I can test this, as steam doesn't really have a debug mode
yes
you still have the old OS
I upgraded 2 days ago I believe and I don't think I have the other one
Debugging steam game is something you know how to do?
it doesn't matter how long ago you updated it matters how many times you updated after the problem started
if you didn't update after the problem started you still have the old OS you can boot into
Okay finally, figured out the problem, no idea what was the cause
I thought it didn't make sense a system upgrade would break unity games, I have no idea what did it
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 that flag worked though
So before I could play without the flag and now I have to put it in some games, weirdthis hurts performance a lot though
:coolfingergunscry:
Perhaps another flag?
the flag you're using forces Direct X to OpenGL
Oh
something somewhere somehow is going wrong between unity & the Vulkan driver
Had the same issue and fixed it with rebasing back to the newest version 42 and updated again from there.
isn't downgrade risky?
I'm wondering what was the change that could've caused this issue
@antheas sorry for the ping, but perhaps you have any idea?
why would it be?
Nah all my files stayed where they were. Its the beauty of bazzite
@Bucket @nagito || Knight of Emilia Can you guide me through that
I'll try downgrading, but I want to keep the modifications
bazzite-rollback-helper rebase 42.20251019
Then, can I upgrade again and it'll work?
you already have the previous OS version on the drive
the one before the update
Oh
the 2nd ostree option in grub will boot into the old OS
Issue is
I had done another upgrade since then
so 2 upgrades
I'm not sure if it'll show the correct version
oh then you don't have it you'd need the helper then
Okay
@nagito || Knight of Emilia @Bucket bad news, downgrading and upgrading did not help
that's sounds like good news to me
if downgrading doesn't help then the OS isn't the problem
downgrading to 42 did help
in fact, when I was on 42 it all worked
