Immich Remote ML CUDA Windows 11 WSL2 ValueError: Unknown model combination: None,detection, ocr
Hey everyone,
I’ve been trying to set up Immich Remote Machine Learning on my desktop PC (Windows 11 + Docker Desktop with WSL2 + NVIDIA GPU).
The container starts fine and GPU acceleration works perfectly —
nvidia-smi inside the container detects my RTX 5060 Ti, and Immich connects successfully to http://192.168.178.107:3003.
Immich Server:
However, when Smart Search or Face Detection tasks run, I constantly see the following error in the ML container logs:
The Immich web UI shows the remote ML endpoint as reachable, but the jobs fail and no OCR or Smart Search results are processed.
So far I’ve tried:
* Verified network connectivity
* Verified GPU acceleration
* Recreated model-cache volume
* Same issue with the latest release-cuda tag
It looks like the container doesn’t recognize the OCR/detection model combination.
Could this be a version mismatch between Immich Server and the ML container, or maybe an OCR model configuration issue?
Working:
* Remote ML container reachable ({"message": "Immich ML"})
* GPU acceleration (CUDA works)
* Basic startup of Immich Server and ML container
Not working:
* Smart Search processing
* Face Detection and OCR jobs
* Model loading → “Unknown model combination: None, detection, ocr”
Any ideas or fixes would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance!
