Heavyweight/thicker chino recs

Hey guys. Just got a job in a law office and I’m looking to buy some pants to have in rotation when I’m not in court. One of those (in addition to a pair of wool trousers) was gonna be more formal chinos. It gets kind of cold here so I was hoping to find some heavier weight ones. Color should probably be like a navy or gray, but I wouldn’t mind a more “professional” brown or something like that. I was looking at chinos like these but I’m trying to avoid Gustin both because I’ve heard some stories from you guys about their fit and I’m not waiting several months for pants I can’t return lol. https://www.weargustin.com/store/chinos-220-superheavy-chinos-navy So basically if there are chinos out there that do a better job than these I’d love to hear what you guys like. Budget is probably up to 200 for the right pair. Thank you kindly!

Hi @Oakland! For better answers, include: - Reference pictures - Budget in numbers - Specific measurements - Openness to buying secondhand and/or online - Location: country/continent is fine - Timing/urgency

I personally don't find that heavier twill fabric like chinos is really warmer at all. Is it possible to simply wear a different fabric in the FW like corduroy or flannel trousers?

chinos are a tightly woven weave so they dont have much loft + theyre cotton. get flannel or other fabrics for warmth like beans said, or wear long johns or other thermal underlayers

Gotcha fair enough. If thickness doesn’t matter than any other chinos you may recommend would be awesome.

flannel-lined chinos could be a good option

the lining usually makes them lumpier than ud want a dress chino

Yeah I came across a couple flannel lined ones that were otherwise fine, but the flannel makes them hang weird. Almost like ski pants or something. Good backup option though

I’ve been doing thermals under wider chinos, but maybe same issue.
