Understanding Workflow Execution and Long Sleeps in Effect Typescript

With workflow execution, am I right in thinking that invoking MyWorkflow.execute where that workflow sleeps for a few days means that the execute Effect will not return anything until the workflow completes (in a few days).

If so, are we supposed to fork the execution and leave it "hanging" for that long?
