How do I RDP into my Ally with Bazzite?
I thought this would be as simple as:
1. Enable RDP in Bazzite (done)
2. Add a username that's allowed
Step 2 is impossible. I can click the "Add User" but there is no way it lets me select and input text in the Username and/or Password field.
How do you guys remote control your Steamdeck/ROG Ally from your PC?

you mean RDP from one device do bazzite?
Yeah. I just want to RDP (or any other remote control) from my Windows PC to the Bazzite device. Because I tried installing EmuDeck but everything failed and the on-screen keyboard and controls are horrible
so you want remote acess to install emudeck?
Mostly, yes
I tried it over ssh with
sudo ujust install-emudeck but that one also failsok open up the terminal & run
sudo systemctl start sshd
after that just make sure you know the IP
which i presume you already doYeah SSH is not the issue. I can SSH into the device
oh you can?
Is there a way to get a on-screen cursor or something that i can control with like the analog sticks or something?
so just install emudeck
Yeah I already enabled sshd. Works fine
How tho? The
ujust command results in python errorsthe method on the website? maybe
Yeah so that's exactly my issue. I tried the methods on the website. Both SteamOS and Linux. Both fail
That's why i wanted to see if i can RDP into the thing to give me a bit more control
hmm how would that help?
all 3 methods don't work
is your system up to date?
by the way both the ways for Steam OS & Linux do the same thing
Yes
I think i just got the installation started by manually launching a
sudo bash ./EmuDeck.sh from terminalonly difference is Steam OS gives you a desktop shortcut
whereas Linux gives you a script
buth both files ultimately rtun the same exact command
Hmm alright. Seems to be installing now. Little bit annoying that I couldn't just double click either the Steam desktop file, nor the .sh file straight from the explorer
which is
sh -c 'curl -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dragoonDorise/EmuDeck/main/install.sh | bash'
this downloads the actual install script & runs itThanks, it's installed now π
the reason Steam OS gives you a desktop file
is because the file manager will make that executable by itself
whereas with a script you have to make it executable yourself
You can use RustDesk in Bazaar
Yeah that one failed. Only give me a "Process Exited" screen
Install RustDesk on Linux | Flathub
Secure remote desktop access
on newer versions of desktop mode you get this the RDP section already has the logged in user added

so you don't have to add others
You don't have to add anything for rustdesk, it just works
