Something went wrong when updating the SK server from 2.17.2 to 2.18.0 on my RPi 4 with OpenPloter 4: the server does not start. How can I repair (besides reinstalling the SK server and losing the settings)?

Need to get a look at the logs to see the error
Reinstall does not mean losing settings, but for extra protection you can create a backup of .signalk
Which file(s) do(es) contain the settings?
~/.signalk
Thank you for the quick answer but this was not exactly my question. I made a backup of the .signalk directory and reinstalled the SignalK server with the OpenPlotter SignalK installer that erased my settings. I want to know which file(s) from the backup I should place back in the new installed directory.
You can restore all of them. except node_modeles
You are talking about OpenPlotter, you might want to go there for help?
Thank you Scott, I shall try this evening.
I had a little time so I tried the OpenPlotter way to reinstall the SK server without success.
I then tried the npm install way, also without success. In both ways, no logs were created in the pi/.npm/_logs
I see some errors about files existing in . . . /usr/lib/node-modules/ . . . How should I handle this? (I am not computer savvy, more a cut-and-past guy. . . )

I removed the . . . /usr/lib/node_modules/signalk-server directory and reinstalled SK server with npm install. The SK server is running again.
