No GRUB display signal during reboot

When using

reboot

reboot

in the terminal or the GUI restart option (same thing i'm pretty sure), from Bazzite specifically, I don't get a video signal (HDMI cable) until the login manager loads. I can still interact with grub when my peripherals light up, except i'm doing it blind. This does not happen when I boot from shutdown or reboot from windows or arch (both of which are booting from GRUB).
Not particularly important, just a bit weird
