Ray Kholodovsky - hovering cursor over a trace ...
hovering cursor over a trace should show the netname, don't you think? similar to how hovering over a pad does.

kicad has a syntax for auto-determined net names if no net name is explicitly specified. it's something like <name of first connection> / <name of second connection>
i am working on this, what should be the board color for fake board
it is almost complete, waiting for the color confirmation
I don't think we need a different color, I'd love it to look as close to the real deal board render as possible. we just need a subtle way to indicate that it is a fake board.

cuz in the future you could specify your real board color to be red or purple or whatever.
How does this look
is the green board faded, or is everything faded in your image?
no
i made it transperent
yeah I was thinking about changing the transparency partially as the visual indicator.
same
I still need to see the pads though.
ok
yeah maybe you just render everything exactly as normal and just make the board slightly more transparent than normal.
And is the chip z height off? like I think I see the 3d legs into the board.

yes, wip
thanks!
How about now

I don't love the "tearing" in the plated holes visually.
this happening to all components when using Mainfold engine, just becomes more apparent when the board is transparant.
