hovering cursor over a trace should show the netname, don't you think? similar to how hovering over a pad does.

kicad has a syntax for auto-determined net names if no net name is explicitly specified. it's something like <name of first connection> / <name of second connection>

I don't think we need a different color, I'd love it to look as close to the real deal board render as possible. we just need a subtle way to indicate that it is a fake board.

yeah maybe you just render everything exactly as normal and just make the board slightly more transparent than normal.
And is the chip z height off? like I think I see the 3d legs into the board.

this happening to all components when using Mainfold engine, just becomes more apparent when the board is transparant.
