I'd like to bump this as a minor annoyance.
In kicad, I'm used to viewing my footprints in 3d and seeing the pads, traces, drilled holes, etc... in the 3d view.
Further, having a design block <group> and not <board> I should also be able to view it in 3d, and see the traces, drilled holes, etc.
