Error on loading HEIC uploaded files from mobile since updating to v2.2.3
Hi, I am having error on loading HEIC file uploaded from Android Mobile app since updating immich v2.2.3.
Old uploaded HEIC files can be loaded with out any issue. Only new uploaded HEIC files have those error.
My environment is TrueNAS app version. Updated Yesterday to v2.2.3. TrueNAS App version is 1.10.12.
Mobile app version is 2.2.3 build 3026 on Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
I only can see those pictures from the mobile app. But when I tried to display those pictures from other PC or Web, it says "Error on loding image".
I appreciate if you can help me to fix the issue.
Thanks,

is there a photo you can zip up and share with me for troubleshooting?
@Alex Thanks for your support. As always, I've just took some shot by my Android Phone.
Here are some example as attached.
As usual, Immich Mobile app automatically uploaded those photos, but from PC, I see the error loading those images.
I tried to upload them manually but it won't work.

hmm
can you try remove the images and repull them?
Other photos that taken by the same Android mobile phone and uploaded before updating was no problem.
can you try remove the images and repull them?Well, I did that. but won't work. I will try this again. Now, I deleted them all, from trush as well. Then, I uploaded from Mobile App. Then, it is the same again. The error loading images.

Hmm not sure if TrueNAS is a contributing factor here
Well, thanks. I will try to roll back to the old version.
If this fix the error, there are somting wrong with the latest version.
@Alex Hi, now I just roll backed Immich v2.2.2 (TrueNAS App v1.10.11)
Then, the error has fixed.
There are something wrong with Immich v2.2.3 or TrunNAS App v1.10.12
i would defer to TrueNAS, although we haven't seen any reports besides this
Ok, I will wait for the next update.
Thanks anyway, I appreciate your support! 🙂
No problem
It's working on my TrueNAS install (Immich v2.2.3/TrueNAS version 1.10.12) so I don't think it is directly related to it (uploaded the heic provided here through webUI)
And the only direct modification from what I see on TrueNAS github on Immich is the change between 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 for immich-server and all immich-machine-learning available
Thanks,
I updated to 2.2.3 (1.10.12) again, then it seems the issue has gone.
I am not sure what was wrong with it. Anyway, I will try roll-back and re-update when I meet an issue.
