Grub/bootloader gone?

Hi there, I have two SSDs in my laptop, one with Windows 10 and a second empty one. I've installed Bazzite on the latter. So far so good, I got it booted and updated. Afterwars I checked on grub if the Windows partition is still there and if I can boot there, it works. But here my problems start: after a reboot out of Windows the boot menu is gone. Is there a way to restore that since I need to boot into both systems (for now)?

if that's not it, it may be that the PC is booting from windows's SSD instead of bazzite's one. GRUB (the menu) is on bazite's SSD.. You can restart to BIOS/UEFI from settings (troubleshouting section I believe), and in your BIOS find the boot section and put bazzite's SSD first.

Hi, I've disabled the fast startup that did not help. I'll attach a picture from the boot menu in bios. In this boot section it also shows a fast boot option. But bis one only has options for Thorough, Minimal and auto:

Quite strange entries, but it is an OEM bios (Dell laptop), not yet a modern UEFI. But I also know from my PC that there should be a different menu where you can set the boot priority? Also after I've exited the bios the boot menu was back. After I booted in Windows, gone again

"Thorough" should be equivalent to disabling it, I would try that. (it shouldn't matter but sometime BIOS are weird). I assume you don't have Secure Boot on this machine so it shouln't be an issue (could be in Security). The menu to choose boot priority should be this one no ? I don't understand what you mean by " different one". I don't know what it shows when you enter sub menus but it seems to already be on fedora anyway. What happens if you restart your computer instead of shutting it down ? If it boots to GRUB when restarting, but straight to windows when shutting down, then I would say fast startup and/or hibernate is not disabled correctly. I'm not aware of other windows setting that can cause this kind of behaviour (but I'm no expert).. If it goes straight to windows even when restarting then I'm out of ideas. You may try to regenerate GRUB(ujust regenerate-grub in bazzite bash) but it probably won't do anything as GRUB is still there

there's a video showing how to setup a shortcut in windows that will restart windows and boot to bazzite. Haven't tried it myself but should work if windows is able to fast startup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ1hppIEnIo

In this video, we'll look at how to easily switch between Windows and Bazzite without having to enter your BIOS or manually select an operating system at startup. We'll create scripts for both directions - one to boot into Bazzite from Windows, and another to boot back into Windows from Bazzite. Timestamps: 00:00 Introduction 00:45 Demo 01:44 M...
