- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).

- The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
- Any other information that you think might be relevant.
Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.
Without the right information we can't work out what the problem is. Help us help you ;)
If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close command, and re-open it later if needed.Well
Can you tell more about that?
its running it just gives me this

Did you try to update?
Can you show your Dataset structure (Btw in the ticket specify TrueNAS or HexOS next time so it's easier for me to find it)
On the server line there, can you click on the third button also so it shows the logs and share that
i just re-downloaded immich so im on the newest
sorry never even heard of hexos im on true nas thought thats all this discord was about my bad
Immich is not officially on TrueNAS so it's a bit the opposite hahah, no worries
Reinstall?
How? Why?
Can you show me when you click on "edit" on immich what it looks like?
wasnt working anymore it was on the old dataset structure anyways so i just deleted it and redownloaded
But so where are your photos? Do you have a backup/did you plan to reuse all from scratch?
just reset it all didnt have much on it everything that was is still on my phone so didnt lose anything
so yea scratch
Ok, great, but how did you install it now? Did you create new datasets?
yea
Can you show me what it looks like?
with the permissions on each dataset?

And where will the data be stored?
my bad

(sorry for asking that many questions haha)
its needed you're fine
permissions what ever default is because idk how they work honestly the menu for them make no sense to me
Ok so that is probably the problem
can you click on pgData
and share the Permission tab on the right?
Same for "Data"
just gives this

Ok this is fine, what about "Data"?

Yeah so can you
1) Stop Immich
2) Delete this Data dataset
3) reate it again, but select the "apps" preset?
4) Edit Immich and point it to the recreated Data dataset (if not already the case)
5) Start Immich
It will probably not work, but we will fix it afterwards
i get this when making a data set for "data" if it matters

that's? well
Can you share the permissions on "software" and "immich" also then?
it works now
it just had to be set as a app i guess
it does still say exited on permissions

do i still need to do somthing with permissions?
yes, immich, on TrueNAS (like all applications) runs as the apps user
but for the database it's another user (seem complicated but is somewhat logical)
No, unless you want to add external libraries in the future
not really? is it an easy fix if so i can just do it
Well, external libraries is like you have a dataset with archive photos that you don't want to upload directly to Immich but still have immich manage them
Like in DataSet you have a "old photos" folder and you would have wanted to be read by immich without uploading them
yea, i know what it is external libraries is. i mean to fix the permissions
Oh yeah, you would just have to set an acl on the dataset (if it doesn't alreadye have one) then add the "apps" user to have modify (or read) access to the data
then apply recursively (it's a checkbox) and save
but if you ever want to do that and need heklp you can ask in the #truenas channel
thanks a lot, i marked it as solved
No problem!
