Better video face detection?
So currently as I understood, for videos it checks the first frame. Thats not very reliable when you have a longer video. Is there a way to change it to maybe checking every minutes last frame or something like that?

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:
- Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
- Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l and df -h).
- The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
- Any other information that you think might be relevant.
Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close command, and re-open it later if needed.Correct, face detection works on the thumbnail as far as I know. This can not be changed in the current version of Immich
Well that kinda sucks. Has no one ever had this idea in mind before? Would be surprising
There are feature requests for this. It’s not as easy as setting an option somewhere.

Facial recognition is one of the main things that makes immich stand out. I don't get why you would not want to add proper support for videos.
Just because it's important doesn't mean it's the most important
A stable app and server experience for instance has been months of work
Yeah I noticed it improved from like 2 years ago.
There are hundreds of people asking for better album/asset sharing for instance, that's been in the works for a while too 😛
Honestly, I can't imagine the change being too difficult. I know that you can get the frames you want easily with ffmpeg, and from there instead of a single frame, youre just iterating over a list of them.

It’s not about being difficult. But someone needs to do it first and it’s not just a single command that needs to be added somewhere.
Also Immich likes to do things the proper way instead of putting half baked solutions on top of each other.
