"Ghost"-Structures

Hello! I'm a bit confused. We use Distant Horizons on our server with the plugin but we always get "Ghost"-Structures that won't really update until after way way way longer of time, sometimes days, even if we change something in these chunks and stay there and wait or whatever. This Pillar of beacons for example isn't there anymore. It's a pregenned map, small one aswell and we've changed a few settings but the lod doesn't seem to update. Any tips?

you can place some blocks in the affected chunks and then DH should update it after some time

To force a DH LOD to update, you should go to affected chunks one by one and place/destroy a couple of blocks, then wait a while in close proximity to the outdated chunks. To make the process more reliable, you can: - Increase the number of placed/broken blocks - Increase the DH CPU load preset - Decrease the DH RD - Re-enter the world before starting the process (but after decreasing the DH RD) - wait longer in even closer proximity

There isn’t much more you can do Also while on a server, the cpu load preset would need to be increased on the server, and reentering the world would be a server restart

But why does the LOD not automatically update?

Can we "delete" a chunk in the files to force the update? Cause its been weeks, and the ghost structure stays ahahah

Yes, but there is control for that. You would need to use some kind of DB viewer or code, find the chunk you’re looking for and delete it manually or with SQL

You can write code in it, but it won’t open the DB by itself
