Weird artifacts and crash on fresh install when at login screen

Brand new install on a Ryzen 3100 and 6500XT. Used the Live ISO and it went to desktop fine, but crashes after install. THis is with Gnome and KDE, and also happens with Ubuntu and Kubuntu.

The system runs in Windows just fine, and did a full burn in test with furmark without issues thinking it may be a GPU issue.

Fastboot and CSM are off. Not sure what is going on, as I am sure now after testing in windows this isnt a hardware issue.

keyboard and mouse respond for a split second before that screen pops up and it crashes

the device appears to still be "running" as it will go into sleep after hte allotted time, but no display out

maybe a problem with the monitor ? anything in its internal options (like freesync), you can disable ? out of curiosity, what happens if you turn the monitor off and on ?

Tried two different monitors, one was 1440p and one was 1080p no freesync

yep, exact same behavor on all distros I have tried, the live installs though work fine for Bazzite and Ubuntu, it goes to the desktop and I am able to go through and install, but not Kubuntu, the live install there crashes the same way.

Also, I was able to install Bazzite fine back in august, but the sleep issue was a problem so I uninstalled and had windows running, I wanted to come back for the Fedora update to see if the sleep issue was resolved

hmm just realized I still have an older install of unbuntu on the SATA drive in here it booted up fine, going to try to install bazzite on that SATA instead of the NVME

So that did not work, I should have checke hte ubuntu version that was installed (had a crown?) but alas installing bazzite on the SATA SSD did nto make a difference.

Is there a way to download an older version of Bazzite to see if its something with Fedora 43?

idk if you can still get a bazzite 42 ISO, but you can try using a Fedora Kinoite (KDE)/Silverblue (GNOME) ISO

OK the correct command is:

rpm-ostree rebase ostree-unverified-registry:ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-dx:stable

and then

rpm-ostree rebase ostree-image-signed:docker://ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-dx:stable
