Updating to latest Homarr on a Proxmox container failed
Hi there, this happened again. Updated my Homarr to the latest version and there were errors during the upgrade. Then after it finished I get a 502 Bad Gateway error.
I updated using the verbose option. I remember last time this happened they advise me to try the upgrade again, but I can't remember how. When I do update it says it's up to date.
Here's the update log: https://pastebin.com/8S4h6gXz

Can I install Homarr on a Raspberry Pi?
Hi, can you post your config? How much RAM? ....

Hi, do you mean the container itself or the machine ?
Solution
Can you try increasing memory?
Ok, let me see if I can do that with Proxmox.
10gb would be enough?
Yes
Should I also increase the swap memory?
No
ok, thanks.
Ok, I have increased the memory and rebooted the container. Should I try the upgrade again?
Do you have a backup?
If yes, yes please
Yeah, I have a backup. But what I don't know is how to upgrade it again, since it says there's no update now.
Should I just get rid of this one create a new backup and use my previous working backup to upgrade again?
I mean, I currently have a broken one, and I have a working copy.
I can backup the working copy again and then try to upgrade the working copy with more ram.
Ok, I trying the update again with more RAM. Made a backup of the working copy I'm trying to update.
Well at least this time it said that it upgraded successfully and asked me if I wanted to reboot.

Though I still saw errors during the upgrade. Let me see if it works.
The warnings are normal (on Promox)
Did the upgrade work?
Yes!
It just rebooted and I'm seeing Homarr.

So maybe it was lack of RAM?
Yes, likely
Ok, well thanks a lot for your help. Much appreciated.
Hello, I have the same problem. 🫤
If I understand correctly, I simply need to allocate more RAM in Proxmox for the update to work?
I have the same Problem. How much more RAM should I allocate?
The Proxmox script currently needs to build the whole app - therefore it requires a lot. Allocate at least 8GB, if possible 10GB.
See the above linked issue, which will reduce the requirement to about 1GB
