olive cargos ($85 max)
hello I am searching in vain for really specific pants.
basically I just keep buying the same pair of $25 pants every few months because I rip them when climbing inside or out. this feels silly. i climb a lot though, 3-5 days a week, and I want these pants to last for a while.
ideal features:
rise: mid
fit: not super baggy
size: 30x32 or 30x34
snaps rather than velcro on cargo pockets
cottony feel, not super obviously synthetic (i can tolerate like 25% poly or something but a lot more than that feels like too much)
olive drab color
i dont like drawstrings and i love when pants have a billion belt loops
I am in small town Arizona, so physical purchasing is a little out of reach. I have tried thrifting for a while but I haven't gotten what i'm looking for. I would buy secondhand but I really want durability.
thats all thank you everyone!!!

yes ok yup that is pretty much what im looking for except the belt
can be removed
really????!?!??
I mean you can definitely cut it and pull it out
the pants have belt loops so you could just wear your own belt
wait nevermind no they dont
:nooooo:
it seems like i just have to suck it up and let my belt droop
but i hate that

its not really a problem thats just how theyre designed
i meant like it is a problem for me, i get that some people like that
Cut the excess off ig
I’m pretty sure they have a slit to tuck the belt into
oh ok cool awesome
as a climber I'd also recommend patching up your pants, regardless of what you get
yes true
at the end of the day you're still gonna end up with holes in your pants depending on how you climb
i agree, i would like more than a few months though, yknow
tuck it in
uniqlo has the exact thing you desire right now

I have them in black and they are good
But the real question is where are you ripping your pants
if knees then just reinforce pants you already have or tbh climb in jeans, if crotch then you need something with more flexibility and probly a shorter rise for those leg movements
I found that big baggy climber pants made by gramicci et al to actually limit mobility when climbing because of how long the rise gets, especailly when wearing a harness it's a pain to stuff all that cloth in there
Can I ask why that bothers you
I've climbed many times with an extra long belt and it's never been an issue for me
especially considering that if you're using harnesses at all there's going to be some hanging straps anyways
butt, knees, thigh! knee holes are usually ok to patch but the last two of my pants have had massive small pancake sized holes in the butt which seems to not be very fixed by patching
do you usually climb in something with stretch?
ik that seems antithetical to durability but it really doesn't have to be
i have like 3 pairs of tech pants but they dont have cargo pockets so i cant bring myself to wear them
to answer your question, no!
do you climb with stuff in ur pockets?
yes
new pants won't fix that illness im afraid
of having stuff in my pockets?
