VAN 185 errors
I got a new mouse and recently I’ve been getting VAN 185 and VAN -79 errors, and in event viewer it says the VGC service has been terminated, please help

Vanguard is whitelisted, I’m on ethernet, and my pc has a Ryzen 5 7600x and an RTX 5060, so I don’t think it’s a specs issue

i was suspecting a logitech driver conflicting with my razer mouse drivers so ill play an unrated and tell you how it goes

im gonna reinstall my chipset drivers
it’s taking 3 years to uninstall holy
for some reason after i leave valorant vanguard just stays running in the background and winrar opens for some reason? also when i try to restart my pc it hangs and it won’t reset
also i tried installing the chipset driver and for some reason 2 of the driver installs failed, but the rest of them succeeded
so weird
i’m gonna play a game of unrated and see how it goes
also when i play marvel rivals and stuff it runs ok so idk whats up with valorant

i tried to shut off my pc but vanguard is like making it hang and its stuck on the “shutting down” screen with the loading circle
and just never shuts down

i might try a complete wipe of valorant using revo uninstaller
like a vanguard problem might be causing the device to crash

every time valorant launches winrar starts for some reason and the device fails
yeah that's really bizarre, idk why winrar is even related
no it says the service stopped and when i try to restart it it says error 1 incorrect function
you might need to disable the device immediately after fresh reboot
but also for some reason vanguard runs in the task manager and i cant end the task
if it doesn't work then i guess reinstall os is worth trying

it's all related to the bad raid device somehow I think

maybe it's broken but if there's a way to disable it you might be able to just bypass the issue

honestly after the ue5 update playing valorant has been super frustrating with how buggy it is
and its also super frustrating how in every patch note it feels like they just don’t address any of these issues even when there are multiple reports of them

@junimo im resetting windows this issue is too frustrating, plus im 90% sure my os is corrupted. if anyone else is getting the van error ask them about the raid device on amd thing, try to narrow it down

@junimo just a brief summary of what vanguard was doing for me:
crashed the amd raid controller
kept running in task manager after the game was closed
started winrar????
crashed the tpm 2.0 driver
caused my pc to hang after shutdown
your raid driver is messed up, it hangs up in the kernel and basically becomes a zombie. Thats why you cant kill vgc.exe or reboot normally

i reinstalled windows
hopefully this can get sorted out
@junimo sorry for the ping again but i see that the team is working on a new vanguard build? if reinstalling windows doesn’t work, can i expect the new build to fix some of these issues?

reset windows, managed to get the proper raid driver installed
