TL;DR: device runs PUBG Mobile at 120 fps flawlessly after a recent system update. Please consider adding official 120 fps support for this device.
This is a new device (released less than half a year ago) that officially doesn't support 120 fps, even though it has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor (6 cores) and scores 2.38m in AnTuTu v11.
I unlocked the 120 fps option to test it (using Scene 8 to measure fps and other stats), and it was almost perfect although FPS would occasionally drop to 100-110, but when I tried recording the screen, the drops became very noticeable (the same issue happened at 90 fps too) – at least until recently.
A few days ago, a system update (ZUXOS 1.1.04.354) was released for the device that "optimized game performance and provided a smoother gaming experience." It also added a performance mode to the built-in game assistant. After installing the update, I tested 120 fps again (smooth graphics, 4x msaa), and the drops have completely disappeared – even with screen recording enabled (1080p 120fps). Now, even in events with 30+ players, the game runs as smoothly as in TDM/Arena matches.
Regarding temperatures: with screen recording enabled, the device gets noticeably warm, but not enough to cause CPU throttling. Without recording, I barely feel any heat at all.
Do you have any plans to add 120fps option officially for this device in future updates?
