random 502 tunnel errors

Cloudflare tunnels sometimes (90%) (seemingly very random) returns 502 errors. e.g. sometimes fails loading css/js assets (with 502). The services are always up and healthy, and this only started happening since introducing tunnels to our compose stacks. No errors or anything are logged.

Attempted solutions: enabling no tls verify in the tunnel configuration - did not help.
