How to move tags into a hierarchy

I currently have a large flat set of tags assigned to my pictures from previous SW use, all neatly assigned to the files in EXIF (not sidecar files). They are not in a hierarchy as I used software that did not support this. So I basically "double tagged", I have the tags Holiday, Holiday 2025, India Holiday - or Event, Birthdays, Emily Birthday, Emily 20. Birthday all assigned to the same photos. I would like to migrate these to a hierachy:
Holiday/Holiday 2025/India Holiday and
Event/Birthday/Emily Birthday/Emily 20. Birthday
is there a smart way of doing this? I can generate lists, use direct DB access or the immich CLI, but I am not sure how to proceed. Ideally I would just update the Holiday 2025 tag to be the parent of the India Holiday tag and the Holiday tag to be the parent of the Holiday 2025 tag (in immichs DB) and be done with it, but I am not sure if this will work out.
Any smart ideas?
