New to Bazzite and to these issues I'm facing...

I recently started my Bazzite journey and have hit some issues I could use some help with as I am at bit of a loss on what could be causing these problems.
The biggest issue right now - Steam games do not work. I came from a Win 11 install so my games are on NTFS drives and Steam sees them but when I try to actually play them, nothing happens. The game acts like it will load but then brings back the Play button without doing anything. I've attached a screen capture of this behavior as well. I have tried multiple games, forced Proton compatibility with Proton Experimental and GE-Proton10-25, and verified game integrity to no avail. I have about reached the point of just wiping both drives and starting over but would like to see if there is something else to be done before that point.
From there, I have a few more minor issues or maybe just need some clarification on:

- When logging in after a reboot, my screen goes black for a few seconds before eventually loading the desktop; this doesn't seem intended and not sure what the issue might be.
- When logging back in after a reboot, my wallpaper that I have changed is no longer there. The photo being used is stored in the Pictures folder on my OS drive so it's not like it has to load a mount point to find it.
