Synology Setup
Hello! For context, I've been using immich on a raspberrypi with a USB SSD attached. I just set up a Synology DS923+ NAS and backed up all my pictures from my phone into it within the shared Photo folder (where our family and important pictures go to) and personal Photos folders (where each user can put whatever picture they want). I regularly backup the shared Photo folder to Backblaze B2 cloud.
I installed Immich via container manager and set up the external libraries (shared photos and each user's personal photos spaces). I'm wondering if it's possible to have different libraries, the ability to choose which library to upload to, and to control which users are able to see which library.
If that's not possible, I'm wondering what are popular/common setups used. Would It be easier to have one directory with all pictures and maybe albums created within immich that separate shared and personal photos. Would each user be able upload to a specific album? Would I be able to backup just that shared album?
I'm very new to this (Immich/NAS/Backups/etc...) so I have an open mind about how to set this all up. Please let me know if anything needs to be clarified.
Side note. To transfer from the SSD immich to the NAS immich, I copied the contents of each folder from the SSD and added them to the appropriate folder in the NAS. I hope that was the right way to do it.
