Audio issues
Im at a complete loss and quite frankly im getting tired of having to find ways around the fact that every one of these new useless ass updates breaks something on the pc im using. This time, it's audio. I play using 2nd gen pro airpods and my drivers are just fine, handsfree telephony is disabled, but my audio glitches out like its enable when i enter a party to play with anybody. Audio is muffled, crunchy, and all around dogshit. Im sick of messing with it myself so maybe someone else can solve riots dogshit issues.

absolutely. Trust me, this is like the 50'th damn issue I've dealt with that these random updates just cause out of nowhere. I wouldn't be so vulgar about it but doing a google search yields nothing but telling me to do the same things that have already been done a trillion times, and being quite honest I'm pretty tired of having to mess with system settings just to play valorant normally.
that's exactly what it is. First time it happened was directly after today's update, the whole game started with shit audio, then I restarted a few times and it moved to only being when i load into a match or join a party

turning party chat off seems to fix it completely, team chat can stay on

Click on your bluetooth device (don't select click the arrow on the right)
At the very top you should audio (allow apps and windows to use this device for audio)
To the right of that there will be a disabled button, click it
Wait a second and your audio should return to normal
This will disable the mic on the bluetooth device. devices without a mic attached should not be affected

but I had tried that, in fact I had it disabled already because of the whole bluetooth and handsfree telephony issue that valorant already had with its voice chat feature
Despite being disabled, issue still persists, which confuses me seeing as the only mic enabled on my computer is a built in one. Even disabling that does not fix the issue, though I don't see why it would seeing as it's something bluetooth related
My honest opinion? This update did something with voice chat that conflicts with drivers specifically related to bluetooth. Why would it? Who tf knows, but seeing as the only thing related are bluetooth devices, and the audio fixes itself once voice chat is disabled, that's literally the only solution
so for now
TLDR: Disable voice chat completely in settings and your audio will return to normal, only fix available at this current point
yea theres no other solution ive tried everything i could to fix it i even disabled my headset mic and it still sounds shitty

My workaround for now is to set my voice chat output to my monitor speakers or any speakers and set it to max volume
Then turn on transparency mode on my headphones

Yeah I'm having the same issue, my audio is muffled in game but when Im in the lobby it's all fine. Apparently has something to do with using bluetooth headphones or earbuds. Atm I think playing with plugged in headphones should be fine until they fix the problem

for everyone that hasnt read that far back, your only solution right now is to disable voice chat entirely. Audio returns to normal and you can just use text for coms, even if it's inconvenient

when you use airpods or something similar with a built in mic, the audio becomes shit because the bluetooth has to carry the waves for audio and waves ofr the microphone, which clogs it and makes it difficult to output back out of the game
for whatever reason, whatever they did with voice chat this time is causing that to kick in, every time, for every bluetooth device, despite mics being disabled

FYI, all info points to it being an issue with bluetooth and voice chat. Turning off voice chat solves it, and this issue doesn't show for wired headphones

the Hands free option is a compatibility option windows has for old bluetooth devices

I can honestly assure you, I’ve done all of that. Voice chat is the only solution working for me. It seems people who already had 1 or 2 done and disabled are just screwed with bricked VC for the moment
yes, and I don't mean to sound annoyed but for the billionth time, I have absolutely done, double checked, triple checked them both. Both of those are issues I've already had and fixed and disabled in the past.
