Unable to save changes to resource packs

Prior to this issue, I had a problem after changing my subscriptions with tModloader open that caused the game to crash on startup due to mismatches, so I deleted the contents of the "Resource Packs" array and was able to start up the game after that.

However, clicking on "Apply Changes" (from the Mod Manager mod) in the resource packs tab no longer does anything , rendering me unable to use them in tmodloader. This occurs no matter how many or few resource packs I try to apply nor in which order.

Any help would be appreciated.

You have a resource pack enabled that is not compatible with tModLoader. Follow this section of the FAQ to disable the resource packs from your config.jsonconfig.json so you can open the game again https://github.com/tModLoader/tModLoader/wiki/Basic-tModLoader-Usage-FAQ#disable-all-resource-packs

Explanation: tModLoader is more strict about what files are in mods and in resource packs. The resource pack has two files with the same name, but with different file extensions. For Example: Item_1.pngItem_1.png and Item_1.xnbItem_1.xnb or Music_1.wavMusic_1.wav and Music_1.mp3Music_1.mp3. Vanilla just ignores one of the duplicates, but tModLoader detects both and raises an error. To fix it, either remove one of the duplicate files or place one of the duplicate files in a non-standard folder so it won't be read by the resource pack system. If you are not the author of the resource pack, report it to the author so they can update the resource pack.

I must've mistakenly not saved the text changes the first time, or maybe tried to commit the changes while tModloader was still open

As for incompatible resource packs, "Punishing Bird" was responsible for being unable to save. I have substituted it with "Punishing Bird replaces the Baby Finch" which is functionally identical
