airpods audio difficulties

when i set my audio output to my airpods, the sound is awful (even with my input set to my laptop mic!) when i set my audio output to speaker, it outputs to my airpods and the quality is fine but i cannot hear vc??? idk whats happening

(this is only in-game, in menus it's fine)
