Severe visual artifacts/corruption during video playback on Android
Platform: Android Device: Pixel 10 Pro Android Version: 16, App Version: 2.3.1 Build 3027, Server Version: 2.3.1
Description: I am experiencing severe visual corruption when playing back certain videos in the Android mobile app. The video displays heavy banding/artifacts and appears distorted/scrambled (see attached screenshot).
Troubleshooting & Findings:
Web Client: The same video plays perfectly fine in the web browser (Chrome).
File Integrity: Downloading the file and playing it locally in a third-party player (like VLC) works perfectly.
Transcoding vs. Direct Play: The issue persists regardless of playback settings. I have tested:
Forcing "Original Video" (Direct Stream/Play).
Forcing Transcoding (various resolutions).
Server-side Hardware Acceleration (QuickSync on Intel N100) turned ON and OFF.
Scope: It happens on many videos, but not all.
Asset Details (Example of a failing file):
Container: MP4
Codec: H.264
Resolution: 1080
Frame Rate: 60fps
Conclusion: Since the file works in the web player and locally, and the issue persists even when forcing the original stream, this seems to be a client-side rendering/decoding issue within the Android app's player for this specific file type/codec combination.
