ZedDisplay, an SK Android MFD and crew communications app is now available for side-loading at https://github.com/motamman/ZedDisplay/releases/latest
I am fairly happy with the wind compass and auto pilot. Some of the simple gauges need some work but generally look fine.
I also added a lightweight intercom/internal calling, messaging and file-sharing system for crew members. This was a special request from my partner, who is substantially deaf and talking on the boat can be very difficult for her especially when the wind is blowing. The comms system sits on top of the local network so doesn't need an internet connection and is managed through a combination of SK websockets and the Resources API/Notes. (We have tested several off-the-shelf systems and found them all lacking for one reason or another.)
Now we can talk/text through our phones (and headsets/heading aids) without screaming or confusing hand signals, regardless of whether we have a mobile connection.
IMPORTANT NOTE, your SK server should have signalk-units-preference installed as it handles ALL the unit conversions for the app.
