Microphone disappearing randomly

Sometimes my microphone (connected via USB) seems to disappear completely, i don't see it anymore in the bottom right corner and both discord and teams don't pick up on it anymore.
Usually it's fixed by rebooting, but does anyone know the cause?
Or can i fix it without rebooting when it happens?
