Steam not detecting game closing.

Hi, for the last week or so, when I close a game on Steam, it keeps my status as online and doesn't let me open another game until I run

killall -9 steam

killall -9 steam

(which eventually lead to Steam only opening Chromium windows...). Just ran

ujust fix-reset-steam

ujust fix-reset-steam

and that didn't fix it unfortunately. I have restarted my PC multiple times to no effect.

Also left the beta branch of the Steam Client and that didn't help.
