hot wheels not booting on steam deck

Hey!
recently bought a Steam deck as a birthday gift for my son. but after adding Heroic launcher, and installing Hot Wheels, the game refuses to boot. when I'm in gaming mode i get stuck in a infinite steam icon loading screen, and when i boot from the desktop mode nothing seem to happen.
anyone here has any clue as to what is happening?
