Replicate RDS into Neon

I want to create a setup where I can essentially keep a synced backup of an RDS postgres DB in neon. I see there's a migration tool in the product but does that just do a one time migration or keep in sync? Is there a supported way to keep the neon DB in sync with the target RDS?

It looks like this doesn't support DDL too? For example if i make a table in the source db it won't propagate to neon? I actually tried using pgstream to get that extra info and it kind of worked (a few bugs to figure out) but I'm wondering if neon has that built in too?

Unfortunately, logical replication does not support DDL, nor does Neon support pgstream. This might help you out with schema changes in logical replication setups though: https://neon.com/docs/guides/logical-replication-schema-changes

Read through it and it seems like all migration strategies in there for DDL are manually triggered even with liquibase and flyway? I'd like something that automatically keeps the two totally in sync in a streaming style to minimize divergence downtime. For our application we need to keep an up to date copy of the target db with minimal latency for divergence so we can't just do a daily dump style thing.

If it can't be supported outside of external tools trying to do something like this that i have to work with (like pgstream) that's fine just want to know my options

I'm not aware of any fully automated methods for replicating DDL changes available in Neon
