Slab Color is Incorrect

Forge/NeoforgeFor slabs that are not uniform, the color is incorrect. Seemingly, the color is not taken from the top face but rather from the side? Creates nasty visuals with "Counterd's Terrain Slabs". I tried working around it in a few ways, but no dice.
When put on Blacklist: Either holes in the world or black shading under the removed blocks
