High Latency in South Korea Due to Workers Running in LAX Despite D1 in APAC

We are experiencing consistently high latency when using Cloudflare Workers with D1 from South Korea. Although D1 is running in the Asia-Pacific region, our Workers are being executed in the LAX colo (confirmed via /cdn-cgi/trace), which causes significant latency. We have enabled Smart Placement, but it has remained stuck in “analysis in progress” for several days without any observable improvement. We would appreciate guidance on resolving this issue or information on any relevant roadmap or best practices.
